RMU raising funds for Haiti

Jan. 12 was more than a bad day for Haitians. A 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck, and life as they know it was changed forever. The earthquake in Haiti has all but destroyed nearly one million lives, and counting. With a death toll exceeding 150,000, a total of 193,000 wounded, and 609,000 people left homeless, the amount of aid needed continues to grow.

Diversity strikes at RMU

The Diversity Council, now called the Council on Institutional Equity (COIE), met in the International Suite on Jan. 19 to discuss diversity and community. Food services going green

Robert Morris University food services started going green last year. Over this past year, students and faculty have been gradually introduced to environmentally friendly changes at The Food Court and Romo's Café. The most noticeable change, primarily to those who dine at the Food Court, was the elimination of Styrofoam take-out containers.

Snow removal, the key to a safe campus

Robert Morris University's Facilities and Operations Departments have been hard at work with snow removal on campus thus far. January has been particularly difficult to manage, large in part because of the regularity of the snow, according to Facilities Manager Richard Showrank.

For the past few years, Locke has been known to provide an installation art, which is a piece of art placed temporarily in an environment to create an impact.

Volunteers needed for project HELP

RMU is currently looking for volunteers to travel to Dungannon, Va. during Spring Break, March 7 though 13, to help repair homes for low and moderate-income families in Scott County. Project HELP, as it is known, will accommodate 12 volunteers plus an advisor.
