This place had a direct connection with the Irish myths class explained during the trip.
Ireland's study abroad trip is different from the others in that it is during the summer, and it does not last an entire semester or year. Rather, it is a three-week trip, with the days split up between various locations. The dates of this year's trip will be May 27t-June 9.
This year, the students on the trip will be spending time in places that differ from last year's trip.
"The group will be spending time in Sligo and South Armagh and only a few days in Dublin," Jackson informed.
As a faculty-lead program, professor Jim Vincent, along with other faculty members, will be chaperoning this program. Last year, Dr. Connie Ruzich, another professor at RMU, also attended the trip.
With an open literature elective and a want to travel, this may be the most educational and cost-efficient opportunity to do so.
Jackson has important information for those who may be considering this study abroad opportunity.
"There are still spots available. Students will need to register for the course and also stop in the International Office to pick up the payment forms. $1,500 is due now and the rest will be due in February. The class will meet only a few times during the semester. Students who are registered for 12-18 credits during the Spring 2010 semester, including Reading Literature (ELIT 1060), will still be charged the flat rate tuition," she explained.
