Snow removal, the key to a safe campus

CMA does not have either of these repercussions. In addition, CMA is green in color, making it more noticeable for those walking, giving pedestrians an accurate idea of where potential ice patches are located.
The campus, however, still uses the salt mixture for the roadways, which consists of larger pieces of salt. This is the same salt that most of the cities, towns, counties, and townships use across the country.
On average, the campus will go through 2,500 bags of the CMA salt on the sidewalks per year. This amounts to approximately 125,000 pounds of salt during the icy, winter months. The average amount of road salt used per year is about 350 tons. This year on the other hand, Showrank said that they are on pace for using over 400 tons of the salt.
The workload ventures beyond the main, Moon Township campus. Employees are also responsible for the snow removal at the campus downtown, as well as the facilities located at Neville Island. Additionally, employees must be available for any sporting events, performances, and any extra-curricular activities on any of the campuses.
The ability to travel throughout Robert Morris, either by foot or by car can be directly linked to the efforts of the employees of the Facilities Department. They will do whatever it takes to keep the general campus community as safe as possible and are glad to do so.
