An article detailing the identity of the student who portrays Romo, the university's mascot, ran during the last issue of the newspaper. The intent of the article was to shed the light on the man behind the mask, offering a glimpse into what it's like to be the most recognizable face at RMU, yet have nobody know your name. With full cooperation from the student himself, we wrote and printed the article, believing it to be a successful piece and we were proud of the work that we'd done. Unfortunately, upon reading the article himself, the student became distraught at the fact that we had printed his full name, something that we thought we had permission to do. Unfortunately , this was not the case, and for this we would like to send our sincere apologies to that person.
The writer of the article, Brittany Fortuna, has personally written an apology for Romo. We hope that this suffices, and we trust that he knows that any harm done was not intentional or deliberate.

As a journalist, you have to be very clear cut and understand every angle before you can publish an article. If there are any grey areas, or a constant nag of second guessing, people's feelings can get hurt and relationships may be broken. Being a freshman, I still have many things to learn and have not yet experienced. But, as a person, I should have realized a small but costly mistake I was about to commit. Without first double checking my source, a misunderstanding occurred and feelings got hurt. I would like to take this time out and apologize to the person I have upset because of the last issue of the newspaper. Without this person, Robert Morris University wouldn't be what it is today, and I have nothing but deep respect for this person. With that being said, I wish them the best and hope they accept my apologies. They have taught me a valuable lesson when it comes to journalism, and I have to thank them for that. But unfortunately, they were the one on the wrong end of the situation. Again, please accept my sincerest apologies and thank you for giving me the opportunity to learn a valuable lesson I vow to never repeat.
